Old Fashioned Christmas at the Stable

Each December, Simmons’ Stable Preservation presents our “Old Fashioned Christmas at the Stable”. Crowds of people line up to the Boulevard, standing patiently to enter the Christmas decorated barn. Those waiting in line watch guests ride the decorated horse-drawn sleigh as beautiful draft Belgians pull it effortlessly around the east track. Once you step into the barn the sound of choirs singing Christmas carols, the smell of fresh pine boughs, and fresh cookies & hot cocoa welcome visitors. Families with excited children chat as they wait in steady lines for a visit & photograph with Santa & Mrs. Claus in a special holiday decorated stall.

Draped from the high catwalks & doorways are live pine boughs with pine cones & red bows adorned. A large live cedar tree stands proudly with old fashioned ornaments and strings of holiday lights are everywhere the eye looks. The Annual Christmas event is free to the public but without our wonderful sponsors helping, it would still be an idea in hope of fruition. We thank our volunteers who give willingly of their time and talents and to all in the community who attend.

Come see us in December and discover why an Old Fashioned Christmas at the Stable is such a joyous holiday event. This event is free to the public each year.
