Columbus

About

Columbus and Tom Bass became famous together giving great “high school horse” performances across the country. Columbus was later sold to Buffalo Bill Cody. (Photo courtesy of the Saddle Horse Museum, Audrain County Historical Society, Mexico, Missouri.)

(Photo 2 & 3) No exact photo of Columbus with Buffalo Bill up has been specifically identified, but Bill had a penance for white/grey horses and was often photographed & depicted on promotional posters aboard a variety of beautiful grey’s.

Tom bought Columbus from a local farmer’s cow pasture, as he saw something in the young horse that was special. His pedigree was never documented. Columbus was later personally chosen & sold to Buffalo Bill Cody for his Wild West Show.
